Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity Announces New 2024-2025 Board Members

Three leaders from across the region bring expertise and impact to Habitat’s mission
CHICAGO (March 18, 2025) – Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce the election of three new board members: Carolyn Jaw, Jill Johnson, and Jennifer Sniderman.
As a support organization for six regional Habitat affiliates, Chicagoland Habitat strategically engages board members with specialized expertise to strengthen our mission—expanding affordable homeownership and home repair opportunities for more families.
“These leaders bring invaluable knowledge to our Board of Directors,” said Gloria Materre, Board Chair of Chicagoland Habitat. “With expertise spanning banking, financial operations, program development, and communications, we are excited to enhance the depth and diversity of our board to further Habitat’s impact in the region.”

Carolyn Jaw is Executive Vice President, Group Head, Sales, Strategy & Solutions for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, having joined its Executive Team in 2020 and advancing to her current role in 2021. With a career at the Bank since 2004, she has held leadership roles across sales, capital markets, and mortgage groups, previously overseeing institutional sales, marketing, and events. Prior to the bank, she worked at Hillenbrand Capital Partners, specializing in structured products and mortgage portfolio management. Beyond her professional achievements, she is deeply engaged in community service, serving on the boards of The People’s Music School and now Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity, and mentoring through Northwestern University’s ALL program.

Jill Johnson is Chief of Staff and Senior Director, Finance and Business Operations, Safety & Security for Northwestern University. Jill is an advisor to senior staff at Northwestern, supporting key University initiatives, financial operations, compliance, program development, and personnel management. Previously, she was Division Coordinator at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, overseeing budget strategy and enforcement improvements, and served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Fidelity National Title Group. At Northwestern, she has contributed to institutional improvement efforts and completed the Kellogg Staff Leadership: Leading Change program. She is an advocate for community engagement, currently serving on the board for Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity.

Jennifer Sniderman is Vice President, Corporate Communications at Wesco International. Jennifer has been helping leaders drive business transformation and performance since 1996 through stakeholder dialogue and innovative customer and employee experiences. As a communications leader at Wesco, she develops strategies to build and protect the company’s brand, overseeing public relations, philanthropy, community engagement, and global employee communication. Previously, she consulted for ROI Communication and held roles at The Hershey Company and Sprint, leading strategies for executive onboarding, corporate restructuring, acquisitions, and financial reporting. Passionate about community involvement, she actively engages in philanthropic initiatives like Habitat for Humanity.
