The sixth annual Veterans Build will kick-off November 6-7, 2026 with teams of veterans building at Habitat for Humanity affiliate build sites!
At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that every veteran family deserves a decent place to call home. Our Veterans Build Program works to empower veterans through home ownership opportunities, critical home repairs and camaraderie building events.

Home Ownership
We believe every veteran deserves to be welcomed home with dignity, honor, and respect. We are looking to partner with veterans and their families to build a new safe, stable, and affordable home.
Home Repair
Habitat’s Home Repair program is designed to improve the quality of life and living conditions of low-to moderate-income homeowners by focusing on both exterior and interior home repairs. However, not all Habitat affiliates offer home repairs at this time.
The affiliates below do offer home repairs for veterans. Please contact them directly to inquire:

- Lake-McHenry Habitat for Humanity
- Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley (serves northern Kane and western Cook County)
