Our Accountability

Habitat for Humanity in Chicagoland strives to help make communities a more desirable and safe place to live, work and play. Annual reports and financial reports give us the opportunity to report to you — the people who support us and make our work possible — on our recent achievements. But the work we do far exceeds the capacity of these reports to tell our story.

2024
Building Sustainable Futures

The theme of our 2024 Habitat Hero event was “Building Sustainable Futures.” Because that is what Habitat for Humanity does. The heart of our mission is to build stronger families and communities through better housing, like the home Olimpia purchased for her family through Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley. Habitat has ensured that Olimpia’s home is a place she can sustain financially, allowing her to live and grow there for years to come.

2023
Every Hand

“Every Hand Makes a Difference”; and in no place is that truer than at Habitat for Humanity. From sketching a design, to swinging a hammer, to joyously handing over the keys at a home dedication, it is astonishing to witness the number of contributors whose hands help our Habitat partner families become successful homeowners.

2022
Home is the Key

In all parts of our lives this past year—personally and professionally, individually and societally—we have been required and inspired to adapt to living and working in situations unlike any we have ever known. But even as new challenges emerge, supporters like you have made it possible for Habitat for Humanity affiliates to continue to build and repair homes for Chicagoland’s vulnerable families.

2021
Rising to the Challenge

In all parts of our lives this past year—personally and professionally, individually and societally—we have been required and inspired to adapt to living and working in situations unlike any we have ever known. But even as new challenges emerge, supporters like you have made it possible for Habitat for Humanity affiliates to ‘Rise to the Challenge’ and continue to build and repair homes for Chicagoland’s vulnerable families.

2020
At Home

This past year was an extraordinary one. Despite significant setbacks in fundraising dollars and volunteers, supporters like you have made it possible for Habitat for Humanity affiliates to continue to build and repair homes for Chicagoland’s vulnerable families. COVID-19 has shown us that that now, more than ever, everyone needs a simple, decent, affordable home in which to live, work, learn and stay healthy.
