Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity Announces New 2023-2024 Board Members

Two leaders from across the region bring expertise and impact to Habitat’s mission

CHICAGO (September 10, 2024) – Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce the election of two new board members in the last year: Meena Beyers and Aaron Erter.

As the support organization to seven regional Habitat affiliates, Chicagoland Habitat strategically recruits and harnesses the skills and strengths of board members who have subject matter expertise to further our core mission helping Habitat for Humanity affiliates to serve more families through home ownership and home repair.

Meena Beyers

Meena Beyers is Vice President, Business and Community Development for Nicor Gas. In this role, she leads strategies to strengthen our customer and community engagement and drive customer sustainability and economic growth. She also oversees several business units including customer solutions, energy efficiency, community affairs, community and economic development, and corporate philanthropy.

Aaron Erter

Aaron Erter is the Chief Executive Officer of James Hardie. A highly experienced executive, he possesses deep expertise in global, multi-billion-dollar organizations in the consumer and industrial sectors. Specifically, he has built and managed high-performing teams, is proficient in P&L management, strategy development, product development, marketing, sales leadership and M&A. Aaron previously served on the Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity board of directors from 2016 to 2019.
